BLE Academy Winter Break Clinics

December 28th – January 2nd

BLE Academy is pleased to offer clinics over the winter break for 2012, 2013, & 2014 players. (2015 players interested, please email with coach reference) Sessions are for keen players, competing at all-star levels.

Please note that sessions are limited in capacity and will sell out quickly. A gift certificate format and congratulations note can be provided for Christmas presents.

Academy players practice in a focused, competitive, and positive environment; any athlete that becomes a consistent distraction or danger to the group will be asked to sit in the lobby and could be removed from all remaining sessions without refund.

Session Details

Players will leave winter clinics with an understanding of routines and drills that can help them work towards their goals. Players will be introduced to perspectives from current and former professional and collegiate players with motivating messages about off season development and positive mindsets. Sessions will blend formal instruction with gamified drill work and competitions. Details about sessions and instructors are below-

Pitch & Catch

Pitchers: Pitching workouts will be appropriate for offseason work loads and pitch counts. Emphasis will be on; -warmup routines -arm care and strengthening routines pre and post throwing -arm path drill work, developing efficiency & repeatability with safe mechanics -competitions

Catchers: -receiving drills -footwork and transfer progressions -blocking progressions -receiving live pitchers and offspeeds -competitions

Infield & Hit

Middle-infield & corner-infield specific instruction. Routines that can be done without a partner at home. Gamified challenges. Emphasis on efficient footwork and transfers.

Hitters will learn new drills with specific focuses every session:
1) fastball timing / strong point of contact
2)  direction / contact quality

3)  offspeeds / 2-strike approach

 

‘ID’ Tryout Clinics: Pitch/Catch & Field & Hit

Players will be introduced to a high-performance training environment and may receive invitations to join future Academy development programs and/or Team BLE travel events.

Tyler Lawson: Head Coach of the PBL White Rock Tritons – 2024 champions, collegiate pitcher

Guest instructors:  

Brayden Bouchey: collegiate and professional pitcher with Toronto Blue Jays organization
Braden Alleman: professional player/coach, UBC alumni, strength and arm care specialist

TBD: Guest appearances from Team Canada members, Team BC coaches, former & current pros, and collegiate players. BLE alumni will share inspiring stories and helpful routines established during their paths through different levels of baseball; high school, college, professional, and international.

Below are the registration options for this week. The week is divided into two groups of three sessions. See the above general descriptions for each of the three sessions. Make sure to note the age requirements differences

Session A: Infield + Hit (2012)

DoB: 2012

Time: 9:00-10:30 (Except: January 1st, 11:00-12:30)

Cost: $225 plus gst

 

Session B: Pitch & Catch + Hitting (2012)

DoB: 2012

Time: 10:40-12:10 (Except: January 1st, 12:40-2:10)

Cost: $225 plus gst

 

Session  C: ‘ID’ Tryout for Academy & BLE travel teams: Pitch/Catch + Infield + Hit (2013/14)

DoB: 2013/14 (not current Academy players) 2015 players will be accepted with coach recommendation, express interest to academyblexperience@gmail.com

Time: 12:15-1:30 (Except: January 1st, 2:15-3:30)

Cost: $195 plus gst

 

Group Two: Sunday (December 29th) , Thursday (December 31st), Thursday (January 2nd)

A designated Non Refundable Deposit must be paid to reserve your spot in the event (50% of Tournament and Travel Events and 25% for camps).  Please understand that this is a NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT for any circumstance as it is needed to secure staff and operations. *Please understand that exceptions have been made to carry over/transfer to family member the Non Refundable Deposit and full payments for a future event but only under special circumstances and must be agreed upon by management. For ‘Best of the West” Tournament Play – Weather or Cancellation:

In the case of weather or cancellation of games or an event, the following will be our refund policy. Please note that we will try our best to get your games and event in.

0 games = 90% refund    1 game = 67% refund      2 games = 33% refund    3 or more = no refund

For Team BLE Travel events – Weather or Cancellation:

Withdrawal from a BLE event one month prior to the start date will result in NO REFUND.  Once again, management does reserve that right to offer a credit under special circumstances. (fm1)
