PRESIDENTS DAY CLASSIC – MESA, ARIZONA – FEB 13 to 17th

Date: February 13 – 17 (Thursday – Monday )

Where: MESA, ARIZONA

TEAMS: 16U & 18U (UNDER AND UPPER CLASS TEAMS)

Cost: $900Cdn + GST = $945Cdn (This is equivalent to $675USD)

*PLEASE NOTE; FOUR OUR US PLAYERS – THE CHARGE WILL BE IN CDN. FUNDS AND YOUR CREDIT CARD WILL DO THE CURRANCY EXCHANGE*

*Deposit of 33% will secure your son’s space in the event with full payment being Paid 1  Month Prior to Event Start Date.  Deposits paid are Non-Refundable and are needed to secure your spot in the event.*

This event is by Invitation only, all players must be identified by BLE staff.

Trip will Include:

– Tournament fees in the PRESIDENTS DAY CLASSIC tournament and all fee’s associated with pre tournament camp, Tournament, ASU game ticket and Coaching/instruction

– Team hat/shirt & Jersey.
– Game ticket to Arizona State University vs. Ohio State University game

* Players are responsible for airfare, lodging, food and transportation to and from fields.

Airfare
To be booked and paid for by each individual player/family.  Coaches will travel on the evening of 12th (Wednesday)  or morning of February 13th (Thursday) with practice beginning in afternoon of February 13th. Coaches are flying home on evening of Feb. 17th – around 7 pm. (recommended flights)

Lodging
To be booked and paid for by each individual player.

Tentative schedule:

*On a daily bases each team will have the opportunity to have team time (Practice), skill development time with team and professional coaches as well as game situation play leading into the tournament.

Thursday, February 13th :

4:30pm Optional Team Practice for those that can get there early enough
6:30pm Official 1st practice with potential exhibition game/Scrimmage

Friday, February 14th :

10:00 – 12:00am ~ Specialty session + Team Time

1:00 – 3:30pm ~ Practice – Game situation play

TEAM FUNCTION – Arizona State University vs. Ohio State University Game (tickets will be provided for players – parents will need to provide their own). An email with a link will be sent out in early January for parents and family members to pick up tickets.

Saturday, February 15 to Monday, February 17th – Tournament play – Games TBA

Coaching Staff in the past has included:

Marty Lehn – Big League Experience Camp operator/Owner, Former Canadian Olympic team coach and MLB Scout with Milwaukee Brewers

Eric Ruben – Regional Rep. for Pitchhit nations (Tom House Sports) and Former MLB Scout with the Atlanta Braves organization.

Shea Hillenbrand – 2 time MLB All-Star with Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays. Mesa CC Hall of fame inductee.

Reg Rivard – Former 11-year pro pitcher that played in the Texas Rangers organization.  Coach Rivard also pitched for the Canadian National team in Intenational competition.

Albie Lopez – 12 year MLB pitcher and World Series Champion with Arizona D-Backs.  Hall of Fame inductee at Mesa College, Arizona.

Allen Cox – Collegiate coach for the Bend Elks (West Coast Collegiate League) and former coach at Gwinnett College (Georgia)

Jordan Blundell – Coach of Edmonton Prospects Collegiate team and former head coach at Vancouver Island University

A designated Non Refundable Deposit must be paid to reserve your spot in the event (50% of Tournament and Travel Events and 25% for camps).  Please understand that this is a NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT for any circumstance as it is needed to secure staff and operations. For Team BLE Travel events – Weather or Cancellation:

Withdrawal from a BLE event one month prior to the start date will result in NO REFUND.  Once again, management does reserve that right to offer a credit under special circumstances. (fm1)
